Class Structure
This program is separate from all
other classes and is generally offered quarterly to a semi-annual
basis. It is an eight hour class ran one night a week over five weeks,
on Monday OR Wednesday nights.
In the class, participants are
exposed to various crime prevention measures, and the advantages and
disadvantages of the various personal weapons on the market such as
mace, stun guns, edged weapons, and firearms are discussed.
We cover basic stances and
effective blocking techniques. Participants are then introduced to a
wide variety of striking techniques and vital target areas on the body
are covered. We also cover basic ground defense and exposure to take
downs. The class culminates in the final sessions with a hands-on
“Red-Man” drill, where the participant utilizes the training in a
controlled setting against a “Mock” attacker.
Due to the intensity of the
program, class is limited to a maximum of ten students ages 16 and up.
Outside spectators are discouraged and are closed to public viewing for
our participants’ privacy.
Class fee is $50.00 which covers
all hand outs and necessary equipment.
